Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to the most common questions.

General

Hard to say, but we definetly don't want to rush anything or give any promises.

The game will be buy-to-play with micro transactions and "premium status" added at a later time.

It's going to be so far from P2W that you won't even see people arguing about it.

The game will initially be launched only in English, the servers will be located in Europe and North America, but there will be no region restrictions, however players with significat ping will not be able to play.

It's possible we will add servers with different rulesets such as PvE servers if there's enough requests for them.

As soon as it makes sense to include outside testers. Right now it's still too early and we don't want to make promises on any dates.

Player Characters

You can play archer, warrior, wizard and possibly one more unannounced class on release.

It's possible, but definetly not a priority for us. The only real difference would be body color and maybe some facial features.

We are starting with male-only characters, but every class will also have a female version on release.

Well, as you might have guessed, there's not much to customize on such a small pixel count, however when you first create your character, you can select your hair and eyes. The way your character looks will also depend on what helmets, armor etc. you're wearing and how you've dyed your gear.

Game Mechanics

When you die there's a chance you will drop some items from your inventory, except ones you have placed in "safe slots". We have not yet decided if any equipped gear will drop, but most likely no. As gear gives little advantage in Overthrown nobody would risk running around with their best equipment on, which would mean naked people everywhere.

There are several benefits in forming a party with your friends such as lowered damage if you were to hit them, keeping track of them on the minimap, shared loot etc.

Sieges will be divided into many smaller scale battles taking part within a predefined timeframe, so players are not forced to protect their land 24/7.

To craft in Overthrown, you'll first need to find blueprints to base your design on. Parts of different blueprints can be found by killing monsters and completing tasks.
Blueprints can be used for a limited amount of times before they become worn out and can't be used anymore.

Once you have the blueprints and materials necessary for crafting, head over to the crafting house. Most cities have crafting houses that are controlled by the rulers of that city. Rulers can change the price for using crafting benches as well as give different groups benefits and penalties (ex. citizens of the city will have a dedicated bench just for them)

Crafting houses will have live queues. Once you get your turn, you'll be charged a lump amount of in-game currency to start crafting based on the tasks you have queued up. Once all your items are crafted the next requests of the next player will be processed.
